Looking for fresh copywriting and video angles
For digital media content ideas in the year ahead, be it copywriting, content writing or video, consider the idea that every good story has, as journalists call it, a ‘hook’.
‘Why’ you might ask?
It’s simply a hook that a good story hangs on, with the objective of capturing the attention and interest of your online audience.
They can come in many forms from within, or from outside, your business that can resonate with people.
Two examples I encountered recently proved useful for both website copywriting and video scripts.
One idea for copy & content writing for an environmental services company came from a conversation about the owners love of the outdoors including hillwalking, trekking and open water swimming.
It was a great ‘hook’ to understand what drives their wider outlook, not just their business.
This led to a strong emphasis on their role in caring for and protecting our shared environment. Something many of us can resonate with!
Video Production Hooks
This can translate just as well to visual storytelling.
A recent video production emerged from a website and content project for a well known travel and transport company we were fortunate to work with.
Having showcased their services, travel routes and transport fleet in copy, photography and video formats, one strong hook emerged to give their website a new dimension.
With a newly designed and built headquarters hosted a top class maintenance and safety testing facility that would rival a commercial garage, it was too good to pass up as a solid hook that will be an interest to many..
It showcases how seriously they take the safety and comfort of their valued passengers, reinforcing their brand and consumer confidence that they were making the right choice to use their services.
The extra mile if I ever heard it!
